PEP小学英语六年级下册Unit 4 Part B Read and Write说课稿

As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in Primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening, speaking ,reading ,writing and their good sense of the English language.

The content of this lessen is from PEP Book 8 Unit 4 Part B Read and Write, so in this lesson, I enable Students to do lots of reading. And the passages are from simple to difficult. I divide the content into three parts: How is everybody doing;

Somebody is doing sth. in somewhere.;Making a call.

The key points in this lesson is master the four-skilled sentences; How to make a call and enable the students read and comprehend the dialogue. The difficulty is how to comprehend “ How is everybody doing? Just fine.”

To solve the difficulties, first I show a song to the Ss, and lead out “ How are you?” It is important to form a better English leaning surrounding for the students by singing .Then have a free talk, and teach them “Just fine” . Later, show “How are you? = How are you doing? “And train the students to ask and answer with this sentence structure. To the third person, lead out “How is he / she doing?” It’s naturely to show “ everybody “ with body language. It’s difficult for the students to read “everybody”, enable them to imitate more times. At last, to read a chant to consolidate the sentences.

To solve the key points, I designed two parts to achieve the teaching aim. First, review the phrases by “I say, you say”, the chant is easy and efficient for the students to practice. Then lead students to say long sentences, as Mom is wring a letter in the kitchen. And show some pictures, enable students to talk about it use this sentence structure. There are six pictures, I divide them into two groups, one group, just talk with one sentence. The other group, enable students talk with dialogues. When we finish the present tense, we review the sentences about making the phone. First I show some sentences, then enable the students to choose the right ones. In this section, enable the students to different the right sentences from others. Next, show a dialogue in wrong orders, make the students to arrange them in right order. The teaching aim is make them master how to make a call. After these reviewing, I show the content from the book. First listen to the dialogue, before listening, read the questions, enable the students think over them when they are listening. It’s more efficient. After listening, learn to how to read the passage.  Students follow the tape to imitate so as to get the correct pronunciation. And I guide them the reading skill. After reading, answer the questions, and finish the sentences on book. Solve the dialogues on book, to make an extension, show two calls from our daily life. Enable the students how to read and how to answer the questions. I need to guide them how to answer, such as teach them how to find the key words.

In all, in this Students’ centered class , all activities are designed to arouse Ss’ interest, inspire their self-confidence and promote the development of Ss’ learning abilities. I use different teaching methods to help Ss practice the target language items. So the Ss have mastered the knowledge and improved the abilities by all these activities.
