The first period

一 Teaching objectives:

1 能听懂、会说、会读单词China, Chinese, Japan, Japanese ,UK, British, USA, American, visitor, different countries以及club。

2 能听懂、会说、会读句型Where are you from? /Where is he/she from ?/Where are they from? I’m/ He’s/ She’s /They’re from … I speak …He/She speaks …They speak ...并能综合运用。

二 Teaching points:

1能正确区分四个国家名称、国籍及语言的英语表达。  2能熟练运用本课句型进行交际。

三 Teaching difficulties:

1能正确掌握四个国家名称、国籍及语言的发音。   2能正确区分并运用第三人称单数形式。

四 Teaching preparation:

1 四封邀请函,里面准备一些人物图片。    2 教室环境布置。      3 教学多媒体。 

五 Teaching Process:

Step 1 Warm up

1 Greetings

 Good morning, boys and girls! / How are you? / Nice to see you.

2 Free talk

 I like taking photos. Do you have any hobbies? How about you?

 Great! Let’s do it in the afternoon, OK?

 How do you spend your weekends?

 What day is it today? What date is it today?

 It’s Children’s Day. What can we do on Children’s Day?

 We can sing and dance, we can watch the flowers,...so are you happy?

Step 2 Presentation and practice

1 Teach “the English Club”

  Today, this is not our classroom, it’s our English Club.(指门)Look, there’s an English corner behind the door, see? And there’s a work show on the wall, there are so many flowers in it. Do you like it? Now I’m in the English Club, do you want to join me?

We can read English words, make friends and play games in the English Club. In the English Club, we need to speak English, if you do well, you’ll get some presents.

2 Invitation Letters 邀请函

 在我们的英语俱乐部有四封邀请函。里面有一些不同国家的代表人物,积极参与的同学将会获得一个人物角色来参加后面的活动。

 First, let’s look at the figures.

 1) Monkey King

   T: Oh, the Monkey King is coming.

     Let’s ask him some questions, OK?

   Ss: Where are you from?

   M: I’m from China.

   (Teach China: China Look,this is a map of China.指黑板地图,In the world, China is here.

    Look at the picture: the Great Wall ,where is it? Beijing.

    T: Beijing is a city. The EXPO, where? Shanghai.

    T: Shanghai is a city, too. They are cities.

    ______ is a city in China. Jintan is also a city in China, but Yaotang is not a city, it’s a town. Look at the cities, are they beautiful?  I love China!)

      I’m Chinese.(Ss read the sentence two by two.)

      I speak Chinese(中文).

   Practice:

   A: Where are you from?

   B: I’m from ______. I’m ______. I speak _______.

   T-S(3), S-S

  Show some figures: Yao Ming, Zhou Jielun, ... Work in pairs:(直接说)

   A: Where is ... from?

   B: He’s /She’s from _____. He’s /She’s _____. He /She speaks ______.

2) We know Monkey is from China, China is a country, isn’t it?

  (Teach country, read two by two.)

樱桃小丸子, Is she from China, too?

No, they‘re from different countries. (Teach)

   A: Where is she from?

   B: She’s from Japan.

   (Teach Japan: Japan 日本, 指黑板,China is here, and Japan is here.

Ss read two by two.)

幻灯:樱花 , 富士山  日本相扑 He’s from Japan.

     樱桃小丸子She’s Japanese. (Teach Japanese: Japan Chinese Japanese 日本人)

     The Chinese and the Japanese are look the same, but do they speak Chinese,too? No, they speak Japanese.

     So she speaks Japanese(日语).

     Can you read the dialogue? Together.

    Show the figures: 多啦A梦, 蜡笔小新, 樱木花道,...Work in pairs:

  A: Where is ... from?

  B: He’s/ She’s from _____. He’s/ She’s ______. He/ She speaks _______.

3) Two children

  A: Look at the Children. They are very happy. Where are they from? Are they from Japan?

  B: No. They’re from the UK.

  (Teach “the UK”: 指黑板,Look ,here is the UK. Show the national flag 英国

Look at the pictures, London Bridge, Big Ben, Gentleman, He’s from the UK.)

    They’re British.

  (Teach British: Bri  fish-tish  British 英国人Ss read two by two.)

    They speak English(英语).

   Ss read the dialogue together.

  Show the figures:哈利波特, 天线宝宝,贝克汉姆,Work in pairs:

  A: Where is ... from?

  B: He’s/ She’s from _____. He’s/ She’s ______. He/ She speaks _______.

4) Mickey Mouse

  T: She speaks English, too. But she is not from the UK.

  S: Where is she from?

  T: She’s from the USA(美国).

  (指黑板,here is the USA. It’s ...How do you think about the USA? Big, strong, rich...Look at the pictures:自由女神像, 纽约城,白宫)

    She’s American(美国人).

  Show the figures: spider man, Tom, Jerry, ...Work in pairs:

  A: Where is ... from?

  B: He’s/ She’s from _____. He’s/ She’s ______. He/ She speaks _______.

3 Activities: 寻找你的好朋友,看看他们现在担任的是什么角色,询问他们一些问题。

  A: Where are you from?

B: I’m from _______(国家). I’m _______(国籍). I speak _________(语言).

4 Fun with the words: Look at the maps, try to use the new words

  Sentences:

  This is a map of _____(国家). The people(人们)here are _____(国籍).

  They speak _______(语言).

5 出示世博会图片,Now we’re the visitors. (Teach visitors: vi  si  doctor-visitor)

  Do you want to join me? Let’s go!

  呈现世博会的四个会馆:China , Japan , the UK, the USA

Step 3 Consolidation

Meet at the EXPO

你和好朋友选择一个最想去的世博会馆,在那里你们会遇到

哪些国家的人?你会与他们进行愉快的交流吗?

A: Hello. Nice to meet you.

B: Nice to meet you, too.

A: Where are you from?

B: I’m from _____. I’m ______. I speak ______.

  How about you?

A: I’m from _____. I’m ______. I speak ______.

  My friend is from ______. He/She is ______.

  He/She speaks ____.

B: Oh, I see. Happy Children’s Day!

A: Thank you. The same to you!

Step 4 Assign homework

1 Surf the Internet and try to learn more about countries.

2 Finish Part C and D by yourself.
