"Many of the foods on this list are too caloric for even an adult, let alone a child," said Zinczenko, also the editor-in-chief of Men's Health magazine. "A moderately active eight-year-old should be eating an average of 1,600 calories a day. Most of these dishes add up to nearly an entire day's worth of calories at one sitting and The Cheesecake Factory's Kids' Pasta tops that by 200 calories. Parents need to be aware of what they're feeding their children to avoid the health risks that go along with obesity at a young age."A McDonald's kids meal with double cheeseburger, fries and jug of chocolate milk, and KFC's popcorn chicken with potato wedges and Pepsi were also singled out for providing empty, unhealthy calories.Meals were chosen based on calorie counts, fat, sodium and added sugar.Meanwhile, the Kids LiveWell program. launched this summer by the National Restaurant Association, is made up of 19 restaurant chains that offer kids' meals under 600 calories. Member brands include Burger King and Denny's.-Afp Relaxnews , October 4th 2011
