Let’s go to the zoo(仁爱七年级--说课稿)

Good afternoon, everyone! Today, I’d like to talk about my teaching idea about Section A, Topic 3 of Unit 4. The center of this topic is “Let’s go to the zoo”.

I divide the instruction into five parts, they are: Content Analysis, Teaching Method Analysis, Learning Method Analysis , Teaching Procedures and Assignment.

. Content Analysis

1. Status and Function

The main purpose of this lesson is to talk about the favourite animals. For the students , this content is very closed to their real life. By learning it, students can built up their love of the animals and they can be encouraged to protect the animals .

2. Key-points and difficult points

(1) The names of the animals

(2) Talking about the favourite animal

3.Teaching aims

(1) Aims of the knowledge

a. Learn the new words and expressions in this lesson

b. Learn how to talk about the favourite animal

 (2) Aims of the abilities

a. Develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking.

b. Train the Ss’ abilities of communication and corporation

 (3) Aims of the emotion

Foster Ss’ love of the animals.

Ⅱ. Teaching Method Analysis

In this lesson I will mainly use Five Steps Method and Task-Based Language Teaching.

I think if I want the student to improve their oral English. I must give them more chances to practice. That is “Learning by doing, Learning by using ”. In this case, I designed tasks according to the《New English Curriculum Criterion》, I will lead my students to study and cooperate with each other. Because the《New English Curriculum Criterion》points out that the general aim of English teaching in this stage of Junior Education is to cultivate students’ comprehensive ability of using English. So I think my teaching methods are in line with the requirement of《New English Curriculum Criterion》.

In order to make the class lively, and the students can learn easily, I will use the multi-media computer system. It can arouse their interests of learning English

. Learning Method Analysis

    First, the students must have a good preview before the class. They must go over the words about the animals they have learned before. Also, they must take an active part in the class activities and complete the tasks by using the target language while cooperating with others. So that, they could seize the chances of communicating in English.

Now, I will mainly talk about teaching procedures.

. Teaching Procedures

Step1  Warm-up and preview

First of all, I will greet my students as usual, and encourage my students to communicate with me. I will tell students a piece of good news---Let’s go to the zoo today. By this way, I quickly lead them into my topic.  

I will show a beautiful picture of a zoo on the screen. And then I will tell the students there are some of our old friends in the zoo. Who are they?  Have a competition among the groups to say the words about animals we have learned before. In this way, the students can be cheered up and revise the names of the animals. After that, I tell the students we will make four new friends today, they are: elephant, lion, peacock and monkey. I think it’s a very interesting way to go over the old words learn the new words.

 

Step 2  Presentation

Task 1    I will present some new words and expressions on the screen. Let the students listen to the tape and guess the meaning of them. As you know, vocabulary is very important for our students English learning, because they are just like stones and bricks of a house. Students often give up reading and talking if there are too many new words, so I decide to teach them first. And explain some of them.

 

Task 2   Play the tape, let the students listen and imitate the dialogue. Divide the students into two groups by their sex to read dialogue.. By this way, the students get further practicing of the dialogue. They are more familiar with the dialogue. Of course, they would feel fewer difficulties to use the dialogue.

 

Step 3  Consolidation

Task1  When they become very familiar with it Ask the students to do the exercise in 1b: complete the chart according to the dialogue. And then check the answers.

 

Task 2   Have class activities (choose the Angel of loving animals)

Let the students listen to the tape and then read the text of 2a. And then I divide all the students into 8 groups. Ask everyone in groups to talking about their favourite animals. I will give every group a form to fill in. So they can choose the angle of loving animals in their group. I will walk around and help the students correct the mistakes and say something about their performance in the activity. After that, the angle of loving animals of each group must tell us their members’  favourite..During the show time, I will give high praise when they finish the report. At the same time, I let the students feel the pleasure to be successful.

After performance, Ask the students if they like the animals in the zoo. And then ask them how to protect the animals in the zoo and in the nurture. Let them discuss.

 

Step 4  Practice  Finish the work in 2b: Look, listen and circle. And then check the answers.

 

Ⅴ. Assignment

At the end of this lesson, I’ll give the students an assignment: Complete the application.

The zoo will ask some people to care the animals at weekends. If you like, please fill the form.
