Discrimination is the ability to observe the differences between objects and properties, or variation with the same category.

Here are some examples of discrimination:

 
  • Recognizing the difference between a cat and a dog is discrimination between categories.
  • Recognizing the difference between a house cat, a Persian cat, and a Siamese cat is discrimination within a category.
